What is Sewtropolis?
Sewtropolis is a Do-It-Yourself sewing studio and fabric store located in south Minneapolis. We have a large, spacious studio equipped with everything a sewer may need, including the sewing machine.
We offer fabric and patterns from Amy Butler, Heather Bailey, Art Gallery, Michael Miller, Cloud 9, Kokka and more. Many of our fabrics and patterns are available from our online shop. Sewing classes are offered for children, teens and adults. Visit our website for more information.
Sewtropolis can accommodate small groups of sewers for events such as birthdays, girl scout troop events and guild meetings.
Who is Sewtropolis?
Sewtropolis is a combination of two words owner, Nikol Gianopoulos, loves the most; sewing and her Greek heritage. Nikol is a self taught sewer who made her first hand sewn gift when she was nine years old. Since then Nikol has made a variety of items including clothing, home furnishing and quilts. Sewtropolis is the result of a longtime dream of Nikol's; to share the gift of sewing.
